Schaumburg AM Rotary is pleased to announce that a Rotary Foundation Global Grant Scholarship has been awarded to Araha Uday, a Schaumburg High School alumna and 2026 graduate of Stanford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Economics and a minor in Mathematics.
Our club proudly sponsored Uday for this prestigious award, which supports graduate students pursuing Master’s or PhD programs abroad in fields aligned with Rotary International’s seven areas of focus: promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water and sanitation, improving maternal and child health, supporting education, growing local economies, and protecting the environment. Scholarships may fund one to four academic years, covering tuition, living expenses, books, and travel.
During her time at Stanford, Uday distinguished herself through academic excellence and meaningful service. Her experiences include internships at PIMCO (Pacific Investment Management Company) and the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. She also co‑founded the Stanford Initiative for Domestic Abuse and is a certified domestic violence counselor in the state of California.
Uday attended our club’s September 9th meeting to personally thank our members for supporting her pursuit of higher education.
