Schaumburg AM Rotary is one of several Rotary Clubs participating in a Rotary Foundation Global Grant project that provides after-school academic counseling programs for at-risk students from vulnerable families who attend Da Dau Jr. High School located in the Da-Du District, Taichung City, Taiwan. The program focuses on supporting basic education in addition to improving student literacy.

The grant award is in the amount of $74,000+ and is funded through donations made by participating Rotary Clubs and Districts that were then matched by The Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Club of Dadu along with other local community partners will monitor and report on the program's progress to its global grant partners to insure that the program has a positive impact and meets its objectives.

Global grants support large international activities with sustainable, measurable outcomes in Rotary’s areas of focus. By working together to respond to real community needs, clubs and districts strengthen their global partnerships.

Two other Rotary District 6440 clubs - Barrington Breakfast Rotary and the Rotary Club of Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates - also contributed funds in support this project.

Two Schaumburg AM Rotarians - Lori Corrigan and Sharon Perry - participated in the November 2017 District 6440 Rotary Friendship Exchange trip to Taiwan and visited Da Dau Jr. High School where school staff discussed the elements of the after-school program and the needs of its student community.
