Club members recently met Winston Churchill Elementary School student garden club advisor Nancy Quintana for an early Saturday morning speed weed ‘n clean project in the school vegetable garden to remove both grass and weeds which had overtaken the raised bed plot.

After an hour's worth of weeding Rotarians successfully rescued pepper, carrot and strawberry plants and more, in addition to preparing the plot for the return of garden club students for the summer who will be planting vegetables for fall harvest in the near future.

Thanks to Tim Gerhardt, Steve and Eva East, Bill Paton and Sharon Perry for getting up early on a Saturday morning to participate and their hands-on efforts that clearly made a difference in more ways than one.  And thanks to Nancy for supplying coffee and donuts!
