As one of multiple event sponsors, Schaumburg A.M. Rotarians participated in Feed My Starving Children’s August 19 & 20 “Be an Engine for Change” MobilePack at Chicago’s Union Station and donated funds that defrayed the cost of purchasing rice, soy, dried vegetables, vitamins, minerals and a vegetarian flavoring that are the ingredients of MannaPack meals that will feed malnourished kids in Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe.

The meal packing event goal of at least a half million meals was exceeded by the thousands of volunteers who each donated several hours of time to assemble meals during the two day packing session.  Mark Crea, Executive Director/CEO of Feed My Starving Children, was on site at Union Station to speak with volunteers and Chicago area media covering the event.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) MobilePack events allow people across the United States a chance to pack life-giving meals, instill compassion into their community and improve the lives of undernourished children around the world. FMSC brings the raw ingredients, equipment and trained staff so individually we can turn hunger into hope with our own two hands!   To learn more about FMSC click here.
