Pictured above with Frost Interact club members are Schaumburg AM Rotary Club President Joe Sabatino (at left) and Ms. Diana Duran, Interact Faculty Advisor (at right).
Student representatives from the Frost Interact Club along with one of their faculty advisors visited Schaumburg A.M. Rotary to update us on their club's self directed service projects during the 2023/2024 school year.
These projects included but were not limited to fundraising for the benefit of Maui, Hawaii wildfire relief, engaging with senior citizens at Schaumburg's Encore Village (formerly known as Friendship Village), shopping for and wrapping holiday gifts for Frost's Adopt-A-Family program, Feed My Starving Children meal packing and more.
Frost Interact will hold a fundraising car wash in the school's parking lot in early May.
Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self.
Promoting youth volunteerism is essential for fostering a sense of community engagement and social responsibility among younger generations. Interact members select and organize service projects that align with their club's interests and skills. Participation in planning and executing projects fosters friendships, creates a sense of belonging and empowers youth to take leadership roles in these projects and initiatives.
We would be remiss if we did not recognize Frost Interact Faculty Advisors Diana Duran and Gerritt Snyder for their contribution that makes it possible for this Interact Club to make a difference in their school, community and beyond!
