On a sunny Saturday afternoon in late October, Boy Scout Troop 193 and the Rotary Club of Schaumburg A.M., outfitted in safety vests and armed with garbage bags, made a positive impact in their community by partnering together in the troop’s Adopt-A-Highway Program service project to clean up a 1.2 mile stretch of Wise Road.

Adopt-A-Highway volunteers demonstrate their civic pride and concern for the environment by providing time and labor to pick up trash and debris on a designated stretch of roadside a minimum number of times per year. Upon conclusion of their efforts Scoutmaster Rick Sarver reported that Scouts and Rotarians filled 7 garbage bags.

Troop 193 meets weekly at Schaumburg’s Collins School. Schaumburg A.M. Rotary, who meets weekly at the Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club in Hoffman Estates, has acted as this troop’s sponsor and charter organization partner since October 1998.
