Club field trips are the best way to experience firsthand the impact of our financial donations and how that can change lives for students from low-income families. Our visit to the Hoffman Estates High School auto tech program “garage” where we heard from auto teacher Dave Ligman was truly an eye opener of the best kind. Schaumburg AM Rotary annually awards need based CTE/ vocational scholarships to Ligman’s students who qualify for our program and who are seeking to continue their automotive education after high school but need financial assistance to do so. The scholarship covers expenses such as tuition, books, and supplies. As a club we are adding a new component to that educational award by donating a starter set of high-quality professional tools plus a tool service/storage cart that will help launch these students on a successful career path in an industry that offers stability, a sustainable wage, and benefits plus opportunities for future growth and advancement.
